
Pretende demonstrar-se que a Bibliometria �� um estudo quantitativo de produ����o cient��fica, dissemina����o e uso de informa����o em diversos sectores de informa����o: os ��ndices bibliom��tricos s��o padr��es de medida e an��lises da produ����o intelectual impressa, indispens��veis �� gest��o bibliotec��ria. O factor impacto �� o subproduto da an��lise estat��stica que quantifica o ranking e outras categorias das publica����es peri��dicas ��� demonstra-se e exemplifica-se o c��lculo matem��tico do factor impacto. Sugerimos a aplica����o do factor impacto ��s publica����es monogr��ficas, para tal damos conta de estudos pioneiros levados a cabo por Crist��val Urbano da Universitat de Barcelona.
