El picó-champeta : una estructura de sentimiento multisituada

Abstract

La presente tesis se centra en mirar el surgimiento del fenómeno socio musical de la costa norte colombiana reconocido como picó, resaltando los hechos históricos más relevantes para su consolidación en la geografía de los barrios populares de ciudades como Barranquilla y Cartagena, y la aparición de una música propia y exclusiva de éste: la champeta. El aporte del presente trabajo de grado es mostrar cómo en la actualidad, la champeta, al igual que otras músicas populares, circula en otras espacialidades y dimensiones en diferentes escalas (conciertos, presentaciones en vivo, venta de discos, difusión radial, escenificación institucional, televisión, internet, entre otros), pero con la particularidad de no lograr despegar con la suficiente fuerza del entorno en que fue concebida, halando siempre hacia las características locales en las que apareció, a pesar de retomar matices, discursos, componentes o prácticas propias de las dimensiones en las que se amplía.
