The purpose of this paper is to collect the quotations of Theocrit in Spanish writers since 2001 and, from the registered mentions, to analyze his characteristics in what concerns the person of the Greek poet, his relevance in the classical literary tradition, the sense of his mentions in relation to the argument of the paragraph where he is quoted and, finally, to find the exact place of the Theocritus’ poems to which belong the texts attributed to him and their fidelity with respect to the original.
