Evasão escolar: a avaliação como prática diagnóstica do rendimento escolar

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper aims to discuss the problem of school dropout, which has become one of the main reasons for discussions, seeking a better understanding of this phenomenon and means for an effective solution. Addressing school assessment is a challenging perspective for students, as it presents the student as the center of the problem, between learning and school failure. It is worth noting that in the context of school dropout, important points were mentioned by authors who address the context of the research to better understand school dropout and why it happens. Dropout should be researched and analyzed through solutions to this problem. However, the teaching and learning of assessment becomes frustrating for students, since acquiring knowledge by students is seen as selecting the best and excluding those who have low results in the assessments, this results in a division between the school and the student. Thus, low-performing students feel discouraged to continue their studies, dropping out of school and causing a regrettable increase in school dropout. The school, as a mediating institution, cannot be complicit in school dropouts, but must seek solutions to effectively reduce school dropout rates. To this end, efficient measures must be implemented to ensure that students complete their school cycle. Keywords: Learning; School; Student.
