GANADERÍA EN SISTEMAS DE PRODUCCIÓN SILVOPASTORIL

Abstract

La fragmentación de los ecosistemas se ha originado como producto de una constante demanda, porparte del sector de la ganadería. Lo anterior, en tanto la producción ganadera bovina se ha desarrolladobajo un sistema de producción extensivo, a partir del cual ha prevalecido el monocultivo. En estesentido, se considera importante, por una parte, tener en cuenta las estrategias para mejorar y recuperarlos sistemas de producción ganaderos y, por otra, favorecer el establecimiento de sistemasagroforestales de tipo silvopastoril. Específicamente, para el desarrollo del presente estudio se realizóuna búsqueda sistemática de la literatura relacionada; también se generaron tablas guía con lainformación recopilada, de manera técnica y específica, de acuerdo con los sistemas de producción. Enel proceso se destacaron especies fijadoras de nitrógeno como Leucaena leucocephala, Gliricidiasepium, Bauhinia purpurea, Albizzia lebeck, Erythrina fusca, Acacia melanoxylon, Inga edulis yCratylia argéntea. Por su parte, Leucaena leucocephala sobresalió por su aporte de proteína y especiescomo Weinmannia pubescens, Salix humboldtiana Willd y Mimosa quitensis Kunth fueronconsideradas recuperadoras de áreas degradadas, estimándose que estas permitieron evitarproblemáticas relacionadas con la erosión del suelo del trópico alto. En tal sentido, se entiende que laganadería debe estar asociada con los sistemas de producción silvopastoril, como un conjunto detécnicas para darle un mejor uso al suelo, garantizando la sostenibilidad y la sustentabilidad delecosistema natural.
