Percepção de puérperas sobre a Lei do Acompanhante

Abstract

Introdução: A Lei Federal nº 11.108 (Lei do Acompanhante), de 07 de abril de 2005, afirmou o direito de mulheres terem um acompanhante durante o pré-natal e os períodos do trabalho de parto, parto e pós-parto, e sua presença pode trazer benefícios tanto para a mãe quanto para o bebê. Objetivo: Analisar a percepção de puérperas sobre os benefícios da Lei do Acompanhante. Métodos: Estudo de campo, de abordagem qualitativa e caráter descritivo, realizado com 19 puérperas em uma maternidade de Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brasil. Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se a entrevista, orientada por um roteiro semiestruturado em ambiente privativo. Para análise dos dados, utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo temática proposta por Bardin. Resultados: Observa-se a importância do acompanhante no período gravídico puerperal, porém é notória a falta de conhecimentos sobre a referida lei, denotando a fragilidade de alguns profissionais em informar às mulheres durante o pré-natal acerca de seus direitos. Conclusão: Os depoimentos das puérperas do estudo revelam que os benefícios proporcionados pela presença do acompanhante tornam a experiência do parto positiva. Todavia, a ampliação da informação e o reconhecimento desse direito são fundamentais para a melhoria da qualidade da assistência.
