ANALISA KEKUATAN TARIK KOMPOSIT SERAT ALAM BERBAHAN PELEPAH LONTAR

Abstract

Serat alam banyak dikembangkan sebagai material komposit, Keunggulan serat dimanfaatkan sebagai reinforcement komposit, antara lain adalah ringan, kuat, ramah lingkungan, dan ekonomis. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui nilai kekuatan tarik setiap variasi komposit serat pelepah lontar.dan mengetahui karakteristik mekanik komposit terhadap uji tarik pada material. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode analisa, kekuatan tarik, regangan, modulus elastisitas, yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, tahapan pertama melakukan pengambilan pelepah lontar dan perendaman, tahapan kedua proses pengambilan serat pelepah lontar, tahapan ketiga proses pencetakan specimen.dan tahapan keempat melakukan pengujian specimen dan pengambilan data penelitian. Hasil yang diperoleh dari analisa kekuatan tarik komposit serat alam berbahan pelepah lontar, hasil pengujian dalam penelitian ini dengan variasi sejajar sumbu 0o, di anyam 45o,melintang 90o, maka diperoleh nilai rata-rata dimana variasi sejajar sumbu 0o dengan kekuatan 42,41 N/mm2, variasi di anyam 45o dengan kekuatan 10,906 N/mm2, variasi melintang 90o dengan kekuatan 6,633 N/mm2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi sudut penguat secara signifikan mempengaruhi kinerja material. Material dengan orientasi penguat pada sudut 0° menunjukkan kekuatan tarik dan modulus elastisitas tertinggi, sedangkan orientasi pada sudut 45° dan 90° menghasilkan penurunan yang signifikan. Penurunan ini mengindikasikan bahwa distribusi tegangan dalam material tidak merata pada sudut tersebut, yang mempengaruhi ketahanan material terhadap gaya tarik dan deformasi. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik komposit serat pelepah lontar setelah dilakukan uji tarik dengan tiga kali pengujian spesimen dalam satu variasi. serta memberikan wawasan bagi pengembangan material komposit untuk berbagai aplikasi industri
