RANCANGAN BANGUN MESIN KOMBINASI CORN SHELER BIJI JAGUNG DAN COUNTER TONGKOL JAGUNG

Abstract

Proses pemipilan jagung dan pencacahan tongkol sebagian besar dilakukan dengan tangan secara manual, jadi butuh waktu lama untuk bekerja dalam pemipilan dan pencacahan. Tujuan dari penilitian melakukan proses rancang bangun mesin kombinasi Corn Sheller biji jagung dan counter tongkol jagung dan melakukan pengujian mesin kombinasi Corn Sheller biji jagung dan counter tongkol jagung. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka, analisa data mengenai waktu yang diperoleh dalam proses pemipilan dan penacahan, tingkat efektifitas dan ketidak efektifan alat, perhitungan perancangan perbandingan alat dengan sistem tenaga manual dan perbandingan dengan alat yang sudah. Prosedur penelitian dilakukan melalui tahap perencanaan unutk menentukan alat, bahan dan desain, tahap pelaksanaan unutk proses kerja lapangan, tahap uji coba untuk mengaplikasikan alat, penyusunan uji cooba penerapan instrumen. Hasil yang didapat dari peracangan adalah dalam kerangka alat mesin kombinasi Corn Sheller biji jagung dan counter tongkol jagung yang mempunyai ukuran panjang 120 cm, tinggi 93 cm, lebar 50 cm daan memiliiki sebelas kompoonen deengan kontrol motor yaang dibuat seluas 3600 rpm . Hasil dari pelaksanaan alat tersebut mendapatkan tingkat efisiensi pemipilan jagung 95% sedangkan tingkat efesiensi pencacahan tongkol 93%, kerugiann produktifitas pemipilan jagung 5% dan kerugian produktifitas pencacan tongkol 5% waktu rata-rata yang dihasilkan adalah 47 detik dan 54 detik. Kesimpulan dari penilitian ini yakni perancangan dan pembuatan mesin kombinasi corn sheller biji jagung dan counter tongkol yang mampu melakukan proses penipilan dan pencacahan sebanyak 2 kg jagung selama 47 detik untuk pemipilan jagung 54 detik untuk pencacahan tongkol. Bahwa mesin kombinasi corn sheller biji jagung dan counter tongkol jagung dengan kapasitas pemipil jagung yang di hasilkan 440 kg/jam dan kapasitas pencacah tongkol jagung yang di hasilkan 370 kg/jam.
