Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berjudul “Makna Makam Konvensional dan Makam Kontemporer pada Masyarakat Jepang”. Makan di Jepang berupa bangunan yang terbuat dari batu berbentuk segiempat dan memuat satu keluarga besar. Oleh karena itu, makam merupakan symbol keberlanjutan keluarga. Dalam penelitian ini digunankan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika dari Roland Barthes. Untuk menemukan makna denotasi dan makna konotasi Pada makam konvensional memiliki tiga tingkatan yang disebut saoishi, joudai, chuudai, masing masing tingkatan memiliki makna konotasi yang menggambarkan langit, manusia, dan bumi. Sedangkan padamakam kontemporer terdiri dari dua tingkatan. kata kunci: makam Jepang konvensional, takubo, semiotik, ABSTRACTThis research is entitled "The Meaning of Conventional Graves and Contemporary Graves in Japanese Society". Dining in Japan is a building made of stone in a rectangular shape and accommodates a large family.Therefore, the grave is a symbol of family continuity. In this research, a qualitative descriptive method was used with a semiotic approach from Roland Barthes. To find the meaning of denotation and meaning of connotation. Conventional tombs have three levels called saoishi, joudai, chuudai, each level has a connotative meaning that depicts heaven, humans and earth.
