Este texto tem por objetivo detectar aspectos da violencia como elemento significativo da narrativa brasileira contemporânea. A cultura da violencia que na contemporaneidade mimetiza o colapso entre os seres humanos e a metafora desse romance que recorre a um matadouro como expressao desse nivel precario de convivencia. A relacao entre homens e animais sintetiza situacoes incontornaveis envolvendo uma sociedade que se torna problematica em seu modelo. Assim, a morte tem como proposito a deteccao de um mundo desigual onde a injustica apresenta sua face mais cruel. De gados e homens sugere uma perspectiva sem retorno, enfatizando o crime e a barbarie com condicao insuportavel. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: NARRATIVA. CONTEMPORANEIDADE. VIOLENCIA. MORTE. ESCATOLOGIA. Abstract This text aimsto detect aspects of the violence as a significant element of the Brazilian contemporary narrative. The culture of violence that in the contemporaneity mimics the collapse between the human beings is the metaphor of that novel that resorts to a slaughterhouse as an expression of that precarious level of acquaintanceship. The relationship between men and cattle synthesizes an avoidable situation involving a society that becomes itself problematic in its model. This way, the death has the purpose of detection of an inequality world where the injustice presents its cruelest face.
