Malacostraca: cangrejos y camarones de agua dulcede Colombia

Abstract

Actualmente se registran 151 especies de crustáceos decápodos de agua dulce en Colombia: 40 de camarones y 111 de cangrejos, lo que sitúa al país como el más rico en la región neotropical y el segundo a nivel mundial. Este grupo tiene un gran potencial en la bioindicación en sentido ecológico (calidad del agua), biogeográfico (endemismos y distribución restringida), alimentario (subsistencia) y de salud pública (vectores de enfermedades).
