INFLUENCIA DEL MICROBIOMA INTESTINAL EN LA SALUD CARDIOVASCULAR

Abstract

Introducción: La disbiosis intestinal participa en vías metabólicas y hormonales, relacionadas con mayor riesgo de enfermedades cardiovasculares, las cuales se consideran de las principales causas de muerte a nivel mundial. Objetivo: Evidenciar la relación entre el microbioma intestinal y la salud cardiovascular. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica narrativa teniendo en cuenta que las enfermedades cardiovasculares lideran las causas de muertes a nivel mundial, se realizó una búsqueda utilizando bases de datos como Uptodate, PubMed, Scielo, Springer, Nature, Elsevier, ScienceDirect y como buscador base Google Académico, el cual derivó a revistas médicas y repositorios universitarios. Resultados: Se encontraron 65 revisiones bibliográficas sistemáticas, metaanálisis y ensayos clínicos aleatorizados en inglés y español con autores nacionales e internacionales con fecha entre 2019 y 2024 , en los idiomas español e inglés. Discusión: El microbioma intestinal modula factores clave en la salud cardiovascular, la disbiosis de la flora intestinal resulta en un desbalance de la homeostasis inmune del individuo e inflamación sistémica, esto sugiere que la regulación del microbioma podría ser una estrategia viable para prevenir y tratar enfermedades cardiovasculares Conclusión: La disbiosis intestinal provoca por varios mecanismos un daño en la función cardiovascular, aumentando potencialmente el riesgo de enfermedades cardiovasculares y en consecuencia mayorcarga sanitaria, económica y personal.
