Abstract

Analisis perlakuan panas bertahap terhadap kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik baja karbon rendah. Seiring dengan perkembangan industri dewasa ini terutama pada bidang industri konstruksi dan rekayasa maka peranan material-material logam sangat dibutuhkan, maka dalam hal ini penulis terdorong untuk meneliti analisis perlakuan panas bertahap terhadap kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik baja karbon rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kekerasan dan kekuatan baja karbon rendah melalui perlakuan panas bertahap. Dalam proses perlakuan panas bertahap, variasi temperatur yang digunakan yaitu 800oC, 850oC, 900oC, dan 950oC, waktu konstan 30 menit dengan media pendingin air. Benda kerja yang digunakan dalam penilitian ini adalah baja karbon ST 37 berbentuk pejal yang diuji dengan metode pengujian DT (Destructive Test) atau pengujian dengan merusak material. Dalam pengujian kekerasan diperoleh nilai rata-rata untuk material normal adalah 55 kg/mm2, temperatur 800oC adalah 65 kg/mm2, temperatur 850oC adalah 83.33 kg/mm2, temperatur 900oC adalah 60.67 kg/mm2, temperatur 950oC adalah 60 kg/mm2. Nilai kekuatan tarik rata-rata untuk material normal adalah 513.1 N/mm2, pada temperatur 800oC adalah 990.79 N/mm2, temperatur 850oC adalah 1089.87 N/mm2, temperatur 900oC adalah 613.94 N/mm2 dan temperatur 950oC adalah 582.1 N/mm2. Dengan melihat hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa temperatur pemanasan pada proses perlakuan panas bertahap berpengaruh terhadap kekerasan dan kekuatan baja karbon rendah.
