Konformitas Teman Sebaya terhadap Perilaku Merokok Mahasiswa

Abstract

Latar Belakang. Perilaku merokok merupakan perilaku berbahaya yang masih saja dinormalisasikan dan dianggap masalah yang remeh oleh masyarakat. Faktor yang menjadi pemicu perilaku merokok di antaranya adalah pengaruh orang tua, faktor kepribadian, pengaruh iklan dan konformitas teman sebaya. Konformitas teman sebaya merupakan pengaruh tertinggi untuk berperilaku merokok terutama bagi remaja karena masa remaja adalah masa pencarian jati diri maka mereka akan mencoba segala hal.Tujuan. Mengetahui hubungan konformitas teman sebaya terhadap perilaku merokok.Metode. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Populasi sejumlah 525 mahasiswa laki-laki angkatan 2022 di salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di Kota Bandar Lampung. Pengambilan sampel yaitu 293 mahasiswa yang merokok dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan google form yang disebarkan melalui 13 ketua kelas dari 13 program studi. Analisis data univariat menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan analisis bivariat menggunakan uji chi-square.Hasil. Terdapat hubungan konformitas teman dekat (p-value 0,001 < 0,05) dengan OR sebesar 20,476, konformitas teman kelompok kecil (p-value 0,003 < 0,05) dengan OR sebesar 0,397, dan konformitas teman kelompok organisasi (p-value 0,002 < 0,05) dengan OR sebesar 0,422 terhadap perilaku merokok. Tidak ada hubungan konformitas teman kelompok geng (p-value 0,077 > 0,05) dan konformitas teman kelompok besar (p-value 0,754 > 0,05) terhadap perilaku merokok mahasiswa.Kesimpulan. Perilaku merokok pada mahasiswa disebabkan oleh konformitas teman dekat, teman kelompok kecil dan teman kelompok organisasi.
