Desmame da ventilação pediátrica

Abstract

O desmame da ventilação mecânica em pacientes pediátricos é um processo crítico, que envolve avaliação cuidadosa da prontidão, estratégias individualizadas e acompanhamento multiprofissional. A falha no desmame pode levar a complicações clínicas importantes, prolongamento da hospitalização e aumento da mortalidade. Este artigo tem como objetivo realizar uma revisão sistemática da literatura brasileira sobre o desmame da ventilação mecânica em crianças, abordando critérios de interrupção, escalas de avaliação, métodos de desmame e fatores associados ao sucesso ou insucesso do processo. A pesquisa foi realizada nas bases SciELO, LILACS e BVS, considerando estudos publicados entre 2010 e 2024. Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de protocolos padronizados, avaliação multidimensional da criança e treinamento contínuo da equipe de saúde. A padronização do processo e o uso de ferramentas validadas são essenciais para melhorar os desfechos clínicos.
