Pileflebitis como complicación postoperatoria de apendicitis aguda
Among the potential complications following appendectomy for acute appendicitis, pylephlebitis is an uncommon entity. Etiologically, it is triggered by septic thrombophlebitis within the portal venous system. We present a case illustrating the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of this condition, as well as the importance of early diagnosis to optimize treatment outcomes.
