Abstract

OBJETIVO: Describir la caracterización de pacientes con diagnóstico de muerte fetal intrauterina atendidas en el servicio de Labor y Partos del Hospital de Chiquimula durante los años de 2020 a 2024. METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo retrospectivo, donde se revisó un total de 75 expedientes, de los cuales 63 cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. RESULTADOS: Se evidencia que el grupo etario predominante fue del rango de 18 a 34 años en un 62% (39), el 23%(18) fueron pacientes procedentes del municipio de Jocotán, la etnia predominante fue la ladina con el 100% (63) de casos, el 52% (22) no presentó ningún grado de escolaridad y el estado civil predominante fue unión libre en el 54%(34). La edad gestacional que predominó fue 22 a 28 semanas con un 52% (33), en un 33%(21) se presentó un intervalo intergenésico menor a un año, el 43%(27) de las pacientes fueron primigestas y el 38% (24) no presentó ninguna cita de control prenatal. CONCLUSIÓN: La muerte fetal es un diagnóstico frecuente atendido en el servicio de labor y partos. A pesar de eso, con una atención prenatal adecuada se logra identificar las características de las pacientes para buscar estrategias que permitan brindar un seguimiento oportuno.
