Digitale Spiele im Geschichtsunterricht

Abstract

Digitale Spiele sind fester Bestandteil der Kultur und Lebenswelt von Schülerinnen und Schülern. Vielfach behandeln sie historische Themen und prägen somit Vorstellungen von Geschichte. Dieses Heft erschließt digitale Spiele als Medium für das historische Lernen und wirbt für einen bewussten und reflektierten Umgang mit ihnen im Unterricht. Die zahlreichen im Heft versammelten Materialien ermöglichen die Behandlung eines bisher kaum erschlossenen Genres im Geschichtsunterricht. Schülerinnen und Schüler lernen so, ein äußerst populäres geschichtskulturelles Produkt kritisch zu hinterfragen. Dies sorgt für eine hohe Motivation und stärkt zugleich die Kompetenz im Umgang mit dem Medium.
