Reologia dei materiali polimerici: scienza e ingegneria

Abstract

Questo libro ha il solo scopo di introdurre il lettore agli aspetti fondamentali del comportamento reologico dei polimeri allo stato fuso. È quindi limitato e circoscritto per almeno due motivi fondamentali. Il primo è che la reologia si basa in maniera consistente su di un apparato fisico-matematico che in questa sede viene volutamente mantenuto ad un livello basso. Il secondo è che, come già sottolineato in precedenza, la reologia ha subito una forte evoluzione negli ultimi decenni, ampliando il suo campo di azione sia per lo sviluppo di nuove e sempre più sofisticate tecniche sperimentali, sia per la possibilità di applicazione ai più svariati campi della scienza e dell’ingegneria. In questa sede, al contrario, ci si concentra volutamente sulla specifica classe dei materiali a base di polimeri termoplastici. Il lettore che voglia approfondire gli aspetti più sofisticati e complessi della reologia, o che voglia ampliare le sue prospettive reologiche verso sistemi e materiali che esulano dal presente ambito, può farlo attraverso la lettura di testi ben più completi ed esaustivi di questo. Alcuni titoli verranno suggeriti alla fine di ogni capitolo.
