Novela corta picaresca del siglo XVII

Abstract

Con la aparición de los Novelas ejemplares de Cervantes (1613), la novela corta no sólo se afianzaba entre los géneros literarios del momento, sino que, además, introducía en dicho género una nueva tipología: la novela corta picaresca. Obviamente, así como las novelas cervantinas de temática picaresca (“La ilustre fregona”, “Rinconete y Cortadillo” y “El coloquio de los perros”) no respetaban el proteico canon picaresco establecido por el Lazarillo y el Guzmán de Alfarache de Alemán, tampoco las novelas cortas picarescas lo harán, recorriendo cada una de ellas un camino distinto pero con idéntica meta: la imitación del modelo cervantino, sobre todo, pero no únicamente, a través de la introducción de temas, argumentos y personajes picarescos, pero declinados con la modalidad cervantina. En este trabajo se intenta, con las provisionalidad que provoca la falta de coordenadas críticas al respecto, estipular un corpus de estas obras y, a la vez, emitir una hipotética poética del género.
