Alporquia e regulador de crescimento na propagação de lichieira

Abstract

The propagation of the lychee is undertaken preferably through air layering, thus providing higher yield and the maintenance of its genetic characteristics. Therefore, the objective of this work was to study three types of branches and the use of a growth regulator on the vegetative propagation of lychee by air layering. Branches were girdled, completely removing the bark, forming approximately 2 cm thick rings, which were treated with different concentrations of Stimulate® and covered with substrate comprising plantmax® mixture, vermiculite and common soil. The experimental design used randomized blocks, in a 5 × 3 factorial outline, with three replications and one air layering per portion. Treatments consisted of five concentrations of Stimulate® (0, 25; 50; 75 and 100%) and three types of branches (thin, medium and thick). It was possible to infer that the use of thick branches and a 50% concentration of Stimulate® in the air layering of lychee, Bengal cultivar, favor good results in the development of air layers.
