O presente trabalho buscou avaliar a aplicação do processo de eletrocoagulação na remoção de fósforo e no aumento da filtrabilidade do licor misto de reatores aeróbios com vistas à aplicação em biorreatores a membrana (BRM). Um planejamento fatorial 22 foi elaborado para a realização dos experimentos, nos quais foram avaliadas a aplicação de diferentes densidades de corrente (4,0, 7,0 e 10,0 A.m-2) e modos de exposição em minutos (6 ligado/6 desligado; 6 ligado/12 desligado; 6 ligado/18 desligado). Adicionalmente, foram realizados ensaios de respirometria a fim de avaliar os possíveis efeitos à atividade da biomassa. Foi verificado um aumento da filtrabilidade do licor misto e da remoção de P-PO4 -3 e produtos microbianos solúveis (PMS) na maioria das condições testadas. Não foram observados efeitos expressivos à atividade da biomassa sob a condição otimizada.
