Avaliação da secagem térmica de lodo de esgoto sanitário

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar o comportamento da secagem convectiva de lodo de esgoto sanitário nos níveis de temperaturas de 60, 70, 80 e 90 °C, e procurar definir modelos matemáticos que façam a predição do processo de secagem. O lodo de esgoto sanitário foi coletado em reator UASB, e o processo de secagem realizado em estufa convectiva utilizando-se uma massa de lodo de 500g, para realização dos ensaios em triplicatas e nos quatro níveis diferentes de temperatura. O percentual de umidade da massa de lodo de esgoto sanitário in natura era de 92,5%. Dentre os modelos matemáticos estudados, os de Midilli e de Page apresentaram melhores parâmetros estatísticos aplicados, apresentando possibilidade de aplicação para explicação do processo de secagem térmica de lodo de esgoto sanitário em escala de bancada. Sugere-se 90ºC como a temperatura com maior capacidade de aplicação neste processo de secagem, haja vista reduzir o tempo de secagem e propiciar relação custo/benefício mais favorável.
