Remoção de sulfetos em reatores UASB microaerados tratando esgoto sanitário

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a redução da concentração de sulfetos no efluente e no biogás, e consequentemente o aumentando de enxofre elementar no efluente de reator UASB microaerado. O monitoramento do sistema experimental foi realizado em duas fases diferentes. Na primeira foi monitorado um reator (R1) com capacidade volumétrica de 10,4 L, vazão de alimentação 24L/d, e vazão de ar de 30 L/d. Na segunda fase, o reator (R2) tinha capacidade volumétrica de 25L, vazão de alimentação de 50 L/d e vazão de ar de 10,4 L/d. Os reatores foram alimentados com o esgoto sanitário do interceptor Leste da CAGEPA, integrante do sistema de esgotamento sanitário de Campina Grande - PB. As eficiências de remoção de sulfeto total dissolvido foram de 94% e 84%; com relação ao enxofre elementar, foram obtidos 28% e 16% desse composto nos efluentes dos reatores R1 e R2, respectivamente. A remoção de sulfeto no biogás foi alta, com teor de gás sulfídrico de 0,009% (v/v) com concentração média de 8 ppm. Portanto, a microaeração diminuiu significativamente a emanação de odores e outros problemas relacionados à presença de sulfeto no efluente e no biogás.
