Comportamento dinâmico e hidrodinâmico de reator tipo UASB submetido à variação de carga hidráulica

Abstract

A hidrodinâmica dos reatores anaeróbios desempenha um papel importante porque pode influenciar a velocidade das reações biológicas. Neste estudo foram avaliadas a estabilidade e o comportamento hidrodinâmico de um reator tipo UASB (21 L) submetido a variação do TDH em 8 h (etapa I) e 4 h (etapa II). O comportamento hidrodinâmico foi avaliado por meio de ensaios de estímulo-resposta tipo pulso, utilizando o traçador eosina Y. A variação da concentração do traçador no efluente foi ajustada pelos modelos teóricos de dispersão de fluxo e de reatores em série. Nos ensaios hidrodinâmicos foram verificados adiantamento do pico de concentração do traçador e lento decaimento da concentração (fenômeno de cauda) em ambas as etapas de operação. O modelo de tanques de mistura completa em série (N-CSTR) demonstrou o melhor ajuste matemático da curva DTR. Foi observada presença de curtos-circuitos hidráulicos e zonas mortas na etapa I e caminhos preferenciais na etapa II.
