Avaliação da umidade de granulação na prensagem de massas para placas cerâmicas de revestimento semi-poroso

Abstract

Resumo Este trabalho avalia os efeitos do teor de umidade de granulacao de uma massa de revestimento cerâmico na fase de prensagem e a relacao com as propriedades tecnologicas obtidas pelo processo via seca. Uma massa industrial granulada com umidades de 5, 7 e 9% foi submetida a pressoes de compactacao de 140, 180 e 220 Kgf/cm. Os corpos de prova obtidos foram secos a 300 oC em secador industrial e queimados em forno industrial na temperatura de 1130 C e ciclo de queima total de 23 minutos. Em seguida, foram medidos o modulo de ruptura a flexao, absorcao de agua e a retracao linear das pecas apos secagem e apos o processo de queima. Adicionalmente foi realizada analise de microscopia eletronica de varredura das pecas a verde. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam a importância do controle dos parâmetros de umidade sobre a compactacao da peca que por sua vez promove influencia direta sobre as propriedades tecnologicas. Contudo, existe uma umidade minima de prensagem para a massa industrial investigada neste estudo, de modo que suas caracteristicas possam satisfazer a NBR 13818.
