Abstract

Resumo: Os porcelanatos apresentaram altas taxas de crescimento de producao e consumo no Brasil e no mundo na ultima decada e possuem valor agregado mais elevado, dentre as tipologias de revestimentos cerâmicos fabricadas atualmente. Ainda que mais de 70% da producao brasileira de revestimentos cerâmicos seja fabricada pelo processo via seca, os porcelanatos sao produzidos quase que exclusivamente por via umida no Brasil e no mundo. Considerando as vantagens meio ambientais e economicas do processo via seca, este trabalho teve por objetivo contribuir para a viabilizacao da fabricacao de porcelanatos esmaltados a partir de massas de cor de queima clara, atraves do processo via seca. Para isso, foram estudadas as condicoes mais adequadas para a preparacao da massa e posteriormente analisadas as possibilidades que se configuram para a formulacao de massas destinadas a este processo. Ao final do trabalho, conclui-se a respeito do potencial tecnico deste produto e sao apresentadas as condicoes de processamento mais adequadas para sua viabilizacao em escala industrial. Nesta terceira parte do trabalho, encontram-se os resultados referentes aos estudos de formulacao de massas realizados. Palavras-chaves: porcelanatos, via seca, materias-primas, boratos, fundentes.
