
El bruxismo es una actividad parafuncional que consiste en el apriete y rechinamiento dentario, es de etiología multifactorial y está asociado principalmente a stress y a alteraciones del sueño o parasomnias. De acuerdo a las características clínicas particulares, se presentan diferentes tipos de bruxismo asociándose principalmente con adultos y aunque se presenta escasamente en niños, se debe diferenciar del desgaste fisiológico en dicha población.
