The Status of HNBR in the West European Automotive Industry

Abstract

<div class="htmlview paragraph">Hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) is presented with respect to its principal technical features and market forecast. Being mainly an elastomer for powertrain applications HNBR, especially in cars with increased service temperatures, must be seen in connection with various service fluids. WE developments in these areas, which may sometimes differ from those in the USA, are described in outline and related to current (series) uses of hydrogenated nitrile. In conclusion a steadily growing market for HNBR in vehicles can be predicted.</div>
