<div class="htmlview paragraph">The design of automotive wire harness systems and the manufacturing of these same harness systems are many times treated as two completely different corporate divisions. This paper will focus on the cost reductions which are possible when these two divisions, with seemingly different goals, coordinate their efforts to make a cost-effective wire harness design.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">Discussions will focus on product commonization, effective engineering changes, and inter-division communications in a multi-facility, multi-location operation.</div>
