<div class="htmlview paragraph">A relationship between volumetric efficiency and engine operating conditions is presented. The effect of such factors as the air inlet temperature, engine speed, heat transfer, residual gases, intake and exhaust manifold pressure, and the compression ratio on the prediction of volumetric efficiency are considered. The predicted and actual values of the volumetric efficiency are in excellent agreement.</div>
