<div class="htmlview paragraph">The use of rubber CVT belts in automotive applications is presented. Basic drive design considerations are given so as to best take advantage of the belt capabilities in terms of capacity and durability. The influence of minimum pitch diameter and heat transfer conditions is demonstrated. Life testing of CVT belts is also discussed, and the need for better knowledge of the actual load spectrum is pointed out.</div>
