<div class="htmlview paragraph">Although many individuals resist the use of statistics on the basis that it represents a source of confusion, the fact is that in order to sample, statistics must be implemented.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The same individuals who choose to ignore the use of statistics, promote the use of sampling because it provides a simple and economical means by which a total picture may be obtained through the examination of only a few items.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">What these individuals fail to realize, however, is that it is not possible to make sense out of a sample result without the use of statistics. Furthermore, a sample cannot even be drawn without a statistical approach to the problem.</div>
