Design and Development of the JD740 Grapple Skidder
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The diminishing labor supply and the increasing demand for wood products are forcing the timber industry to look for new machines to provide less expensive ways of bringing in the wood. The grapple skidder is one such machine. This paper describes the design of a 145 hp grapple skidder and the test procedures used to evaluate its reliability.</div>
