<div class="htmlview paragraph">High-strength AlN and Si<sub>3</sub>N<sub>4</sub>, which have been produced by hot pressing powder compacts with available sintering aids, are potential candidates for high-temperature vehicular gas turbine engines. In this paper, typical properties for both materials, rotor testing results at room temperature using model blades, and some designed ceramic components are presented.</div>
