Exhaust Port Shapes for Sound and Power

Abstract

<div class="htmlview paragraph">A theoretical analysis is presented that predicts significant reductions in exhaust pulse amplitudes and hence exhaust noise levels by varying the shape of the exhaust port in a spark-ignited 2-cycle engine. Verification and correlation with experimental results are also presented.</div>
