<div class="htmlview paragraph">Acoustic noise has been described as “sound without value.” This paper on acoustic noise is a study of what is called sound, treating of how it is generated, how it is propagated, absorbed, and measured. These specifics are discussed, along with some simple examples of how sound is related to the environment in which it exists.</div>
