<div class="htmlview paragraph">The effects of sulfur oxide pollution are discussed, with reference to the literature. Levels of sulfur oxide and particulates in the air are determined for different areas, and many geographic comparisons are made. Dose/response relationships of sulfur oxide and smoke are established, and it is concluded that a safe level of both in the air would be 100 <i>μ</i>gm/m<sup>3</sup> or less.</div>
