Forest Mechanization — A Challenge to the Industry

Abstract

<div class="htmlview paragraph">An increasing demand for wood, accompanied by a decreasing supply of labor, is forcing the timber industry to mechanize. As industry strives towards the goal of complete mechanization, a number of challenges will be encountered. This paper defines the challenges and suggests possible applications of new technology to these challenges.</div>
