<div class="htmlview paragraph">The natural gas engine is a superb method of gas utilization from the aspect of load factor improvement on gas utility company lines. The importance of fuel economy on long running units is shown to be the major component in the cost of generating mechanical energy. Economic considerations affecting engine selection are outlined. Emphasis is placed on utility company involvement, to a reasonable degree, to aid in customer acceptance of the gas engine during developmental phases of prime mover sales programs.</div>
