<div class="htmlview paragraph">The purpose of this paper is to bring together for review the several safety aspects of air transport design and operation. The aspects discussed consist of items that do not fall readily into any major airline group or classification and which are generally of a controversial nature. Due credit is given to the remarkable maintenance, operation, and control of military aircraft. Crash evacuation (and in-flight evacuation), pilot limitations, and design specifications in relation to safety practices are among the topics discussed.</div>
