<div class="htmlview paragraph">The measurement of transient motion, with emphasis on acceleration determinations, is discussed in this paper on shock testing. Frequency response requirements are described in relation to accelerometers and galvonometer recorders and filters. The paper also includes a review of shock transducers and their calibration. The effect of mounting techniques on transducer resonance frequency is discussed as is the effect of transducer mass upon structural response. Lastly, the paper concludes with a description of readout and recording instruments.</div>
