<div class="htmlview paragraph">If the four wheel drive and the name of Willys are practically synonymous, it is because experiments and trials have been unlimited in producing the powerful, versatile, and compact package called a Jeep. From the wartime “WAC” to the present-day models, wheel power of these cars has been steadily improved. The description of basic precursory models and the present experimental car shows why this is a “vehicle to carry cargo, as much cargo as is practical, from here to there,” anywhere. This paper is well illustrated and presents ideas that should titillate the exploratory instincts of inventive engineers.</div>
