Abstract

<div class="htmlview paragraph"><b>DIFFICULTIES of starting truck engines in cold weather have led to the development of several schemes for making starting easier.</b></div> <div class="htmlview paragraph"><b>Discussed here is one of these methods, which consists of an electric immersion heater of 500-1250 w installed in the engine block for heating the liquid surrounding the cylinder walls.</b></div> <div class="htmlview paragraph"><b>It appears from tests carried out by Mr. Gohn that the electric immersion heater affords a relatively simple and economical means of improving engine starting for equipment stored outside or even in unheated garages.</b></div>
