Nova is a new cultivar of sainfoin (Onobrychis viciaefolia Scop.) selected from seed introduced from the Kazakhstan region of the U. S. S. R. Its main advantages over other sainfoin cultivars are superior winterhardiness and good forage yield, spring vigor, and seed yield.
