Pigmented basal cell carcinoma (pBCC) is an uncommon clinical and histopathological variant that is more frequent in darker skin types. The increased number of melanocytes and the subsequent melanin production are responsible for the increased pigmentation in this variant. Clinically, pBCC has a polychromatic nature. The most common clinical mimic of this entity is malignant melanoma. This article focuses on providing dermatologists with insights into this condition.
