The nature and advantages of conducting plastic sensors are explored. Their use is described in terms of the instrumentation required, data gathering, processing, storage and transmission. The history of their use in the U.S.A., France and Canada is discussed. A summary of the Omnidata Polycorder is given which is to be used in conjunction with Iinear potentiometers.
