Finding the Breakeven Point of Diamond Impregnated Bit Wear in Turbodrill Applications

Abstract

Drilling with a turbodrill system and diamond impregnated bits requires the optimization of the components usage to achieve profitability. One of the main concerns is how to identify the bit wear out point while drilling trough high UCS rocks? A cutting sizing analysis has proven to determine the breakeven point of diamond impregnated bit wear while drilling in harsh environments.
