Abstract

Este trabalho trata das festas escolares religiosas com o objetivo de compreender como o campo da História da Educação vem abordando esse tipo de festas em suas discussões por meio de Congressos Brasileiros de História da Educação. A festa, além de ser um espaço de múltiplas representações, é campo fértil para a legitimação política ou religiosa. A análise se deu apoiada nos conceitos de festa, de Emile Durkheim (1978), cultura de Clifford Geertz (2008) cultura escolar de Dominique Julia (2001), tradição de Eric Hobsbawm (2008), representação de Roger Chartier (1991) e campo e poder simbólico de Pierre Bourdieu (1989). Sob a luz da História Cultural, a pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, foi realizada a partir de uma investigação documental bibliográfica, por meio de Anais de Congressos Brasileiros de História da Educação (CBHE). Como resultado, destaca-se carência de estudos sobre festas escolares nos eventos pesquisados que concebem em sua maioria, as festividades cívicas como instrumento político. Poucos foram os trabalhos que contemplaram as diferentes relações das festas em seu campo cultural, educacional e religioso, mas, conceberam fortemente o campo político presente nesse contexto, demonstrando a importância do papel das festas na construção e reprodução das relações de poder na cultura escolar.
