
Se describe la malacofauna de gastropodos y la microfauna de ostracodos de la localidad rio Agua Verde, provincia de Catamarca, Argentina. Proceden de la Formacion Andalhuala, cuya datacion estimada es de 5.22 ± 0.9 Ma, ubicandola en el Plioceno Temprano. La asociacion esta integrada por los gastropodos Biomphalaria straminea (Dunker), Physa cf. acuta Draparnaud, Chilina fluminea (Maton), Lymnaea aff. Viatrix d’Orbigny, Succinea aff. meridionalis d’Orbigny, Heleobia sp. y Potamolithus aff. lapidum (d’Orbigny), y los ostracodos Cyprideis sp. cf. C. salebrosa hartmanni Ramirez, 1967, Cyprideis sp., Cypridopsis sp. cf. C. vidua (O. F. Muller, 1776) y Cyamocytheridea? sp. Esta asociacion refleja la existencia de un cuerpo de agua dulce, de escasa dimension y de poca profundidad, con variacion hidrica, desarrollado en un clima calido-humedo y dentro de la Region Neotropical.Palabras clave: Gastropodos, ostracodos, agua dulce, Plioceno Temprano, Catamarca, Argentina.
